The Name
Manor Of Horsey

Horsey. It’s our family name. Descended from a long line of English knights, our name originates from the medieval village of Horsey, in county Somerset, documented in the Doomsday Book of 1086. Our earliest recorded ancestor Walter, Lord of the Manor of Horsey, was known as Walter of Horsey. In 1643, immigrant ancestor Stephen Horsey fled the English civil war to become an early settler of Virginia, founder of Jamestown, and elected Burgess of the House of Burgesses. There’s clearly many gaps in this story, but it eventually leads to the St Louis metro area, where we call home.

Four Horseys. It’s our family name too. Our family; there’s four of us Horseys. Michael and Deanna, owners of the company, and our two kids who are now married adults pursuing their own life adventures. But we will forever be Four Horseys.

The Team

Meet Michael and Deanna Horsey, the “horsey-power” behind Four Horseys.

World travelers. For over 20 years they lived a nomadic life as Michael served a career as a U.S. Air Force Officer, retiring in 2016. In 2020, Michael and Deanna both joined less than 1% of Americans who claim “All Stater” status, having visited all 50 States. They’ve lived in 7 states, as well as Down Under in Australia. In total, Michael has been in over 30 countries.

Community Improvers. At each location they lived, Michael and Deanna’s life lessons broaden as each offered something different. Driven by their passion for community service, they left their mark through church and volunteer efforts, always finding a way to improve the community. Even the best will have areas that can go from good to great!

Home Renovators. A house is only a house. It’s on you to turn it into your home. Sometimes that means tearing down walls, or adding new features. Living in so many different houses gave the Horsey’s ample experience creating homes, while providing Michael opportunities to learn and sharpen his home renovation skills.

Four Horseys. Package these 25+ years of experiences together and Four Horseys LLC was born Feb 2017, as an effort to improve the greater St Louis community one house at a time.
